Behavioral Health Specialist
$15.53 – $19.53 per hour (with shift differential): Full-Time, Part-Time, Call-In

We use a TRAUMA INFORMED CARE APPROACH to working with adolescents and we will teach you how to apply these principles in an effective and positive manner.
Your role provides services to the residents through:
Active Engagement: Assisting with psycho-ed groups, physical activities, therapeutic and scholastic assignments, and coaching pro social skills by modeling healthy relationship building skills.
Empathy and Trauma Informed Care: Compassionate listening and re-directing negativity to ensure our clients feel safe which helps them on the path to healing past trauma.
Modeling and Coaching: Working together in a collaborative environment with their peers helps promote pro social skills and improves their self-esteem.
Safety and Security: Consistent engagement and supervision of our clients is a priority that will ensure safety and provides much needed routines.

Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 6 - 12 months of acute psychiatric experience in a hospital-based setting preferred but willing to train. Preference will be given to applicants who have an Associated Degree or higher in a Social Science Field.
