Combatting Immune Disease Through Data Analysis! Join our team to help fight immune diseases.
We need individuals to apply cutting edge statistical approaches to study the human immune system. We believe that understanding how the immune system functions both in health and in diseases like cancer and autoimmunity will lead to better patient care. We are looking for highly motivated and creative individuals who enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team-oriented environment to use statistical and computational approaches to discover new mechanisms, biomarkers, and therapies for immune-mediated diseases. The biostatistician will integrate with two teams: 1) our Center for Systems Immunology, a dynamic group of bioinformaticians, immunologists, and other data analysts, and 2) the Center for Interventional Immunology to help design and analyze data from clinical research studies.
Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason (BRI) is an internationally recognized medical research institute committed to finding a cure for autoimmune and immune-mediated diseases, through a combination of basic and translational research programs. This means you can contribute to scientific advances that have a direct impact on people with these diseases, including type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, allergies, and asthma.
Responsibilities:The Biostatistician will apply biostatistics and statistics to the design, execution, analysis, and interpretation of clinical research results and associated mechanistic studies. By adding statistical rigor to all phases of the experimental process the biostatistician supports the ability to draw significant interpretation from these experiments with confidence.
Biostatisticians will work most effectively at the project level, so that they may be included from the earliest design phase, overseeing statistically oriented details of the project from beginning to end. This will necessarily include collaborative interactions with investigators and researchers across the organization. Biostatisticians will be expected to manage and maintain large collections of experimental and clinical profiling data from both public domain and internal programs.
All applications must include a cover letter.
Biostatistician II: Requires a degree in biostatistics, healthcare statistics, or other life science with a strong understanding of the principals of biostatistics, and 3 to 5 or years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience post bachelors degree. Bachelors degree required, PhD preferred. Annual salary: $86,190 to $137,040. Biostatistician III: Requires a degree in biostatistics, healthcare statistics, or other life science with a strong understanding of the principals of biostatistics, proven ability to develop new methodology when needed, and 5 or more years related experience, or equivalent combination of related education and experience post bachelors degree. Bachelors degree required, PhD preferred. Annual salary: $102,700 to $167,400
Other requirements include:
Biostatistician II: $86,190 to $137,040 per year
Biostatistician III: $102,700 to $167,400 per year
Benefits:Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason (BRI) has a bold mission: Predict, prevent, reverse and cure immune system diseases, from autoimmune disease to cancer to COVID-19. We examine the immune system in both health and disease to understand how disorders start and how to rebalance the immune system back to health. Equipped with innovative tools and robust biorepositories, our team chips away at the biggest mysteries behind these conditions to work toward our vision of a healthy immune system for all. As an independent non-profit organization within Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, we collaborate with clinicians to accelerate the path from innovative lab discoveries to life-changing patient care.
At BRI, each role is valued and an important contributor to the vision and mission. BRI is committed to a safe, caring and diverse workplace; as well as to taking action to further our commitments to foster inclusion, equity and belonging so employees feel comfortable bringing their full selves to work. Consider making a difference, join our team. Because together, we are Powering Possibility .
