Ben E. Keith Company is Hiring an Inventory Control Manager-754000 Clerical & Supr. - Day Near Linwood, NC

The purpose of the Inventory Control Manager position is to manage inventory levels and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. • Maintain branch inventory in compliance with standardized Food Division inventory control management procedures to ensure integrity and reduce shrink loss. • Maintain physical inventory procedures, count teams, and organize the preparation and count with the assistance of the Division Controller. • Initiate and monitor procedures that will ensure inventory variance does not exceed company guidelines. • Organize and verify inventory by planning item locations. • Ensure compliance with operational best practices that result in a balanced online vs. physical inventory. • Ensure online inventory system is in synchronization with the physical inventory by taking physical counts, tracking lost items and adjusting records. • Identify causes of variance and ensure corrections are made. • Establish monthly cycle count schedules and ensure adherence by relevant personnel. • Ensure adherence to the best slotting practices, such as prompt slotting of new items, and re-slotting to increase productivity and reduce damage. • Perform administrative tasks to monitor and maintain physical inventory counts. • Meet with vendors and buyers to resolve inventory issues that negatively affect company profitability. • Monitor return driver check-in procedures and ensure all returned product is accurately accounted for and stored appropriately. • Perform daily write-up of unsaleable product, and maintain accountability of damaged product. • Complete data entry of unsaleable product in the company’s inventory management system. • Communicate with Division Controller to resolve issues that may arise. • Assist Operations Manager in meeting financial and operational objectives to maximize branch productivity. • Assist Operations Manager with Branch’s Selector Error Program to correct errors in shipping and receiving. • Set an example for all operations associates through professional and ethical management practices. • Assist the Operations Manager with the enforcement of strict inbound guidelines for fresh meat and poultry to consistently reduce spoils expense. • Meet financial standards by providing annual budget information, monitoring of expenditures and implementing corrective actions. • Manage and monitor dead and damaged inventory to optimize inventory levels. • Establish inventory levels by studying supply usage patterns and forecasts, and coordinating with the purchasing department on reorder points. • Evaluate dead inventory with the assistance of purchasing. • Establish a program to reduce and eliminate dead stock. • Oversee the warehouse damage consolidation and spoilage programs to reduce damage loss. • Rotate product and remove out-of-date product from stock to prohibit shipping to customers. • Bill vendors for out-of-date products. • Manage the day-to-day tasks of direct reports and provide orientation, training, coaching and other HR objectives as needed. • Assess performance of direct reports and provide feedback. • Consistently demonstrate and model good management and self-management practices in support of BEK culture. • Manage handling of recalls and ensure regulatory guidelines are met and maintained. • Ensure inventory levels are optimized.Job Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree preferred • 2 years inventory experience required • Some management experience preferred • Extensive product knowledge a plus • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications • Knowledge of Food Service industry preferred, as well as state and federal regulatory requirements • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication • Relationship Management • Ability to Manage Others • Ethical Work Practices • Detail-Oriented • Self-Directed/Self-Motivated • Strong Problem-Solving Skills • Excellent Organizational Skills • Ability to Multi-task
