The Outpatient/PHP Treatment Clerk is responsible for assisting to coordinate outpatient and PHP services.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma is required. Computer and clerical training preferred. Relevant post high school education and training is preferred.

Experience: Background in hospital billing and/or working with insurance companies to pre-certify services is essential. HIPAA compliance and release of patient information is essential. Knowledge of Joint Commission standards of practice is beneficial. Experience working in an office setting with computers and electronic medical record software programs. Clinical background to include knowledge pertaining to diagnostic coding, medications, and prescriptions is preferred. Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate to the public “with a smile in your voice” is essential.

Additional Requirements: Experience with computers, and software pertaining to scheduling and billing of outpatient/PHP treatment is preferred. This applicant must be able to multi-task in a public environment and maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor at all times. This position requires professional dress and demeanor, as well as a willingness and attitude to problem solve which will help the hospital to provide timely and professional services to patients in a friendly and therapeutically supportive environment. Must be familiar with HIPAA rules and regulations.
