The Behavioral Counseling Technician (BCT) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from preschool through adolescent depending on which unit worked. Behavioral Counseling Technicians work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

High School Diploma / GEC

Valid Driver license

FBI/BCI/SAWCIS backgrounds

Experience:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferably in a special education or behavioral health setting
- Knowledge of data collection methods and techniques
- Familiarity with working in a team-based environment
- Ability to provide patient care and support in accordance with established protocols
- Experience working with children is preferred
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies is a plus
- Experience in behavioral health or PTSD care is beneficial

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days of employment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
