Belmont Abbey College seeks a Gifts Processing Coordinator for College Relations.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Administration, the Gift Processing Coordinator will be responsible for managing the timely processing and acknowledgement of all gifts, pledges, pledge payments, matching gifts, memorial and tribute gifts, stock donations, gifts-in-kind, and other contributions. The coordinator is responsible for accurately acknowledging all gifts that come in. Acknowledgements include custom thank you letters, tax receipts, phone calls, premiums, handwritten messages, emails, texts etc. They will work directly with donors by greeting donors who visit campus, and responding to donor calls, emails, texts and social media comments. They will have sufficient knowledge of our donor database, Virtuous, as well as credit card processing, and prospect research systems.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a two-year degree and a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience and possess maturity, good personality, punctuality, dependability, accuracy and must be able to follow instructions. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The candidate must be self-motivated, organized, and able to pay attention to the smallest details. Experience with excel functions, accounting, ledger keeping, and customer database management software, and customer service is desirable. The candidate will need to have exceptional donor relations skills including being personable and attentive, as well as being a strong verbal communicator. The work environment is a general office setting with limited strenuous physical demands – able to move boxes up to 30 lbs. The coordinator will also need to work College Relations events which can include working on weekends, specifically Homecoming weekend, weekend retreats, and conferences.
In addition, candidates must wholeheartedly embrace the mission of the College to educate students in the liberal arts and sciences so that in all things God may be glorified. The incumbent will consistently demonstrate skills, attitudes, and stable disposition of character to support our Catholic and Benedictine identity while fostering the development of mind, body, and spirit in our students, our staff and the greater community. Finally, candidates must have a sincere appreciation and acceptance of our Catholic approach to education and an understanding of Pope Saint John Paul II’s Ex Corde Ecclesiae.
