Role and Responsibilities
The accountant position is responsible managing the monthly close process for an entity, and preparing financial statements for that business, in accordance with GAAP, IRS and Company standards. The accountant will draft and/or file required statements, state and local sales taxes, property taxes or other required filings as required. The accountant will participate in implementing financial and related systems to support the organization overall. The accountant will work with other accountants, accounting managers, Controller and VP-Finance to deliver correct and complete financial statements and reporting as required. Working with the Controller, the accountant will participate in financial audits, system audits, financial system configuration and validation, as well as support other accounting functions such as AP, AR, Inventory and Fixed Assets. The accountant will complete special projects as required.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining accurate accounting data for all accounts.
• Reconciling bank and credit card accounts
• Reconciling cash receipts and sales deposits
• Working with Accounting staff to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and laws.
• Supervising Accounting clerks as needed
• Assisting in the implementation of new systems and processes, including documenting and training other staff members.
• Collecting and analyzing data to identify trends and anomalies and investigates causes and solutions
• Maintaining and ensuring compliance with statutory and accounting policies, procedures, and controls, and filing deadlines
• Performing other accounting duties as assigned.
