The Job

The Branch Sales Manager (BSM) is the branch leadership role overseeing branch operations, sales, security, member experiences, and the management of the assigned branch staff.

Key Priorities Include

  • Management, supervision, and effective coaching of the personnel in the department.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels for member experience to include hiring, training, scheduling, managing, educating, and reviewing the performance of team members.
  • Cultivating business and building community relationships within our branch network.
  • Promotes a consultative sales culture and work quality ethic by engaging in all sales and service activities, including outbound efforts, demonstrates role mode behaviors to grow relationships with our members through advising members on the best products and service solutions to meet their financial goals.
  • Prepares and closes various consumer loan products to include HELOCs, while educating members on Debt Protection, GAP, and MRC coverage.
  • Collaborates effectively with team members to ensure a positive experience for members, including full-circle problem resolution.
  • Supports the needs of other branch offices by providing coverage in a variety of capacities, up to and including keyholder duties.
  • Works in partnership with other team leaders ensuring the safety and security of the branch and its employees, operational soundness, as well as positive audit outcomes.
  • Responsible for opening / closing branches while observing and enforcing security practices.
  • Responsible for the growth and goal achievement of the department, created through coaching, and training, and measured through reporting and observation.
  • Demonstrates role model behaviors in all member and employee interactions to include sales, teller transactions, and operational tasks.
  • Performs all duties and tasks as required, to maintain a secure and compliant branch.
  • All retail employees must understand and comply with all BSA Regulations.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of bank or credit union supervisory and sales leadership to include knowledge of credit union products, services, and regulations.

Skilled in leading and coaching retail branch operations including policy, procedures, compliance, and security.

  • History of successful sales referrals and sales coaching in a financial environment required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure employee and member understanding.
  • Exhibit positive attitude and professionalism, displaying role-model behavior.
  • A two-year college degree or extensive on-the-job training.
  • Ability to coach and mentor others using influence to redirect behaviors towards expected results.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exceptions to processes when warranted.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to travel to branches as needed for coverage in different capacities.
  • Ability to resolve member issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and NMLS# with the Federal Registry in compliance with the SAFE Act.
