Job Title: Grinder/Polisher

Location: Sylmar, CA 91342

Duration: 06 Months contract (Potential Temp to Perm)

Payrate: $21/hr. for 1st shift

$21.50/hr. for 2nd shift

Shift: 1st shift, 8-12hour shifts, Wednesday-Sunday

2nd Shift, 8-12hour shifts, Friday-Tuesday

Responsibilities:

• Support production manager to set-up and operate Grinder, Polisher and rework operations.
• Adhere to company policy on safety, lock out, and attendance policy.
• Set-up and operate Grinders, polisher according to defined job instructions.
• Tracking of daily production and material completion records
• Tracking of material scrap by workstation and work order records
• Tracking of time for order completion and equipment downtime
• Identify continuous improvement potentials for future consideration.
• Support logistics managers and colleagues.
• Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.

Education and experience:

• High school diploma/GED
• Skilled trades training preferred.
• 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations (heavy equipment)

Skills and knowledge:

• Grinding and Polishing background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of MS-Office and computer literacy
• Physical ability to complete job duties.
• Ability to follow directions accurately.
• Attention to detail and organization skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Able to work different shifts to maintain high safety and quality standards.
