Behringer is Hiring an Operations Manager Near Dallas, TX

Behringer is hiring an Operations Manager to:

- Lead administrative efforts for Executive Team

- Complete accounting activities

- Lead office management activities

- Lead property administrative activities

Since its inception in 1989, Dallas-based Behringer, together with its affiliates, has raised equity of more than $6 billion through public and private fund structures, joint ventures, and separately managed accounts. The company offers select private investment opportunities focused on commercial assets in Texas.

I. Key Responsibilities

1) Admin/Office Mgmt.

a. Schedule meetings for team members as requested (manage calendar as needed for Principals)… this may occasionally include the spouses of team members as well

b. Schedule meals, entertainment, travel for team members as requested… this may occasionally include the spouses/families of team members as well

c. Help/direct resources to plan company/investor/broker/key relationship entertainment/travel events (potentially including company AT&T Stadium ticket management)

d. Assist in completing expense reports for Principals

e. Keep Behringer conference room generally organized and clean (when in office)

f. Greet guests or attendees to Behringer functions at office (when in office)

g. Check general company voicemail box a couple times per day for messages and route to appropriate team member(s)

h. Serve as main liaison to, interact with, and make occasional requests of CommonDesk team to keep office functioning properly

i. Occasionally put together written correspondence, presentations, charts, etc. in concert with a team member or Principal

j. Help team members stay organized

k. Retrieve mail from PO Box on set interval (i.e. every few days or each week); distribute mail to appropriate team members

l. Coordinate express or overnight shipping for team members if needed (when in office)

m. Serve as backup point person for 5Q Cloud, our IT managed service provider.

n. Serve as notary for important documents, as needed

o. Order office supplies, as needed

p. Order bday gifts, sympathy flowers, send cards, help coordinate donations, etc. as needed

q. Serve as main contact for storage facility coordination (Vital Records company off-site file storage and Extra Space monthly furniture storage rental unit)

r. Office moving coordination, as needed (with vendors)

2) Accounting

a. Payables work (use Intacct accounting system)

i. add new vendors,

ii. enter all invoices and

iii. print and mail the checks after SVP – Accounting review and selection in the system

iv. upload the positive pay file to the bank after printing checks

b. Admin includes:

i. Depositing checks at bank

ii. Entering employee expense reports

iii. Printing 1099 forms

iv. Scanning printed checks and saving in the box.com shared drive

v. Potential administration of the corporate credit card and shipping accounts

c. Payroll-related processing

3) Real Estate Property Admin

a. Coordinate vendors that support property management activities at properties owned/managed by Behringer Property Management (BPM)

i. Checking bills

ii. Ensuring billing to appropriate entity, correct amount, etc.

iii. Meet on premises on occasion for on-site work

iv. Request work, get bids, verify insurance coverage, award bids, etc.

b. Interact with tenants at buildings, responding to requests if they are admin related or referring to appropriate team member(s)

c. Serve as contact for tenants including on after-hours team to respond to emergencies at BPM buildings

4) HR Administrative Assistance

a. Serve as main liaison to PEO (co-employer) for Behringer

b. Provide certain employees with supplemental general benefits, open enrollment, and medical/dental/vision claims assistance

c. Interact with benefits providers as appropriate outside of PEO

II. Desired Experience/Skills

1) Direct experience providing administrative support to an executive team

2) Comfort/competence with basic accounting including payables, receivables, invoicing, coding, expense report processing, and certain limited payroll processes

3) Comfort with and willingness to support and lead a variety of administrative tasks for a small family-owned real estate investment company

4) Need to be comfortable interacting in a professional and positive manner with customers/investors, coworkers, vendors, etc. whether in-person, via phone, or in written communications.

5) Formal educational achievement consistent with the demands of the position

III. Work Location/Attendance/Requirements

1) Except company holidays, this full-time position must be in the office 3 days per week. That requirement can vary depending on individual project demands that require greater periodic presence at Dallas HQ or at owned properties around DFW area; generally not required to be in office on Fridays

2) While atypical, the person serving in this role must be available via phone or text most hours of the day for urgent or emergency type requests (cell phone subsidy provided monthly)

3) While very infrequent (generally 1-2 times per year or less), travel may be required for hospitality-type events or job-related training events or conferences

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $76,286.00 - $84,287.00 per year
