Behavioral Health Services (BHS) is a non-for-profit, community-based health care organization, whose mission is to transform lives by providing substance abuse, mental health, drug-free transitional living, family preservation, prevention and Family Health Center and other related health services to the residents of Southern California. POSITION: QI Coordinator (Full Time Regular)

SHIFT: Monday – Friday @ 8am – 5pm

LOCATION: Corporate Office – Gardena, CA

DUTIES: The QI (Quality Improvement) Coordinator is to support QI Initiatives and projects, and coordinate with clinical staff, care providers, and community resources.

· Serve as the coordinator on special projects as assigned by the Director of HC Quality Management or executive leadership

· Develop and manage projects to support the BHS Quality Management Plan

· Engage in continuing education related to the 8 domains of healthcare quality competencies: quality review and accountability, professional engagement, quality leadership and integration, performance and process improvement, population health and care transitions, health data analytics, patient safety, and regulatory and accreditation.

· Develop and/or support any internal trainings relating to the scope of the project or initiative or other topics as assigned.

· Serve as the main contact for the project and coordinate various communication as required by the project plan

· Track and report on measures as required by the project plan

· Troubleshoot and/or modify the project plan as needed or specified by leadership

· Supervise QI interns, volunteers, and QI staff as assigned.

· Assist in training and testing of MA, care coordinator, quality, and nursing competencies

· Serve as a liaison between BHS health centers, partner organizations and professional associations (i.e. CCALAC, CPCA, NACHC)

· Works collaboratively as a team member with all staff members

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Following are the qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans with Disabilities Act. Bilingual abilities may be required within certain BHS programs.

· Associate’s degree or higher

· Must be fluent in written and spoken English

· Ability to travel to BHS sites as needed

· Knowledge of various quality improvement tools (e.g. PDSA, RCA, process map) and data visualization tools (e.g. run chart, histogram, bar chart).

· Knowledge of and/or trainings by IHI, NAHQ, IHQX, AHRQ, NCQA, or other healthcare quality organizations

· Experience in developing and writing proposals, creating reports, and performing data analysis

· Experience developing and implementing clinical and process trainings

· Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.

· Must have valid California Driver’s license and liability insurance.

Preferred: LVN, RN, or other clinical-based licensure or health care degree, ability to communicate in Spanish, experience in primary care of substance use settings and FQHC settings, experience with Medi-Cal managed care and medically underserved populations, experience with EMR programs, knowledgeable of patient registration, basic clinic operations, clinic flow, and patient tracking mechanisms.

BLS certification, obtain within 90 days of employment and maintain current thereafter.
