DUTIES: The Payroll Specialist performs a variety of payroll related tasks to support the operations of the

facility or accounting department.

QUALIFICATIONS: Following are the qualifications and competencies required to perform the essential

functions of this position. Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans with

Disabilities Act.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ new hires, hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, address changes, and other information.
• Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions (401K, Life Insurance)
• Process semi-monthly payroll using MIP ABILA payroll software and HR Management Module.
• Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
• Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of direct payroll processing experience
• Experience with ADP or Paycheck software preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
