Position Specification Summary

The position of Dispatcher answers and screens all telephone calls to the crisis line, assesses the needs of the caller and makes decisions concerning resolution of the needs as part of the mobile crisis services.

Example of Duties:

1. Answers and screens all telephone calls to the crisis line and attends all training provided to develop and maintain a high level of effectiveness.

2. Activates crisis staff when deemed necessary to resolve a crisis situation.

3. Attends and participates in staff meetings, trainings and supervision.

4. Participates in the scheduling process of dispatchers.

5. Completes all necessary documentation(i.e., phone logs, contact sheets, dispatch logs, reports) related to crisis dispatch and sends this data to the appropriate parties in a timely fashion.

6. Informs relief dispatches of needed information.

7. Informs supervisor as needed of critical incidents such as suicides, problem callers, etc..

8. Completes all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Evening shift

Education:

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

• Positive Psychology: 1 year (Required)
• Social Work: 2 years (Required)
