Job Summary

The Medication Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for administering medications to patients and monitoring their health status. The LPN will work under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician and will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to patients as prescribed by the physician
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns to the healthcare team
• Assist with patient assessments and document findings in the medical record
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
• Provide education to patients and their families about medications and their side effects
• Ensure medication storage and handling procedures are followed according to facility policies and procedures
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Requirements

• Current LPN license in the state of Louisiana
• Experience administering medications in a healthcare setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Basic computer skills

Physical Demands

The LPN may be required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. They may also be required to lift or move patients or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

The LPN will work in a healthcare facility, such as a hospital, nursing home, or clinic. They may be exposed to infectious diseases and hazardous materials, and will be required to follow safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
