Beech Brook, one of Northeast Ohio’s premier behavioral health agencies, is currently hiring a Foster Care Coordinator to join our Treatment Foster Care Team. This position will support future and current foster parents through training, the licensing process, and acceptance of placements. The Foster Care Coordinator is responsible for training of potential Foster Parents, Facilitating Information Meetings for potential Foster Parents, and Conducting Pre-Service Training to Foster Parents. Beech Brook specializes in Treatment Foster Care, providing CPST/case management services to children of various ages placed in Level 4 foster care with special attention paid to trauma informed care.

Education-Required

Bachelor’s Degree
Ohio license: LSW, LPC

Essential Responsibilities (including but not limited):

Provide information to foster parents through the information meetings.
Conducts pre-service training to foster parents.
Support parents in completing the application process and preparing for licensure/home study process.
Be familiar with all foster parents in the agency and support them in their growth and development.
Follow up with foster parents, particularly as they work through licensing and prepare for their first placement.
Coordinate ongoing foster parent training/trainers.
Define family strengths and needs to support the placement in homes.
Coordinates and completes potential foster child intakes.
Maintains ongoing communication with families about potential placement of Foster Children
Responds to families and assists meeting their needs in a timely manner.
Identifies potential areas for crisis and proactively plans to prevent it.
Handles crisis in an effective manner.
Ensures Foster parents meet rules requirements to obtain licensure and to provide a safe, supportive environment for the child(ren) going into care.
Collaborates with prospective parents to ensure all license requirements are met.
On Call responsibilities on a rotating basis

Qualifications:

Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
Skill in using computer software applications such as Microsoft Office
Ability to work with electronic medical records.
Must be Energetic and Enthusiastic
Strong organizational and time management skills
Personal reliable transportation is required.
