Bedrock Care Melbourne is looking for a Full -Time Dietary Aide to join our team.

Basic Purpose:

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Foodservice or the Assistant Food Service Director, the Food Service Aide works in the kitchen assisting in the preparation and service of food, and follows a cleaning schedule. The service of food may include the transporting of food trays to the nursing units.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Food Service Aide may be responsible for some and/or all of the following functions some and/or all of the time under the assignment and direction of his/her supervisor.

• Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of meals, snacks, and beverages.
• Responsible for or assisting in assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies and equipment.
• Continuously cleans food service work areas as food preparation and service are done. This includes Dishwashing, Pot Washing, Sweeping and mopping floors, and Taking out the trash.
• Labels nourishment and sends or transports them to resident floors.
• Transporting trays and carts to or from the resident floors.
• Uses all equipment according to manufacturer instructions. Follow proper cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies and prepares food following department procedures and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Follows facility policies and procedures for infection control at all times to maintain sanitary preparation and storage areas. Uses personal protective equipment when indicated. Follow facility procedures for resident trays that require special handling.
