The Shipping / Receiving Clerk is responsible for three key areas :

1. Pack and Wrap / Loading / Unloading

2. Department Production

3. Systems and Safety

This position is devoted to keeping their assigned elements up to Bednark’s quality standards.

The Shipping / Receiving Clerk receives, reviews, and completes tasks based on direction from a department manager. They collaborate with other Department members to safely and efficiently complete the scope of work assigned to them.

Below is a more detailed description of this work :

Pack and Wrap / Loading / Unloading :

• Receives, reviews and completes tasks according to instruction from department manager & reports back to department manager with questions, comments, concerns
• Gathers and tracks all required materials, equipment, and hardware for the appointed projects
• Competent in preparing bills of lading using Microsoft word and excel
• Experienced in wrapping, protecting and packaging finished millwork for deliveries
• Assist in unloading deliveries of materials and distributing to the proper departments
• Performs at a high level of craftsmanship, strong work ethic, and resourcefulness
• Demonstrates keen attention to detail and thoroughness
• Ensures the product is up to Bednark standards before passing off to next step in the production

Department Production :

• Observes and demonstrates safe and efficient packaging procedures
• Maintains a clean and orderly workspace and bench
• Assists in daily operations of the shipping / receiving team’s assigned tasks and space
• Operates at a high level of professionalism, reliability, punctuality, and awareness
• Responsible for tracking and clocking in / out of POs when starting / completing tasks for each
• project
• Collaborates in the upkeep of all department-specific tools, machines and consumables
• Leads by example in fostering a positive, solution-oriented teamwork environment

Systems and Safety :

• Conducts clear, productive and professional communications
• Collaborates with team members in replenishing Department consumables and tool maintenance
• Maintains a safe, healthy, and judgment-free working environment
