Bednark Studio Inc. is Hiring a Draftsperson (FT) Near Brooklyn, NY
You are a team player involved at the forefront of every project for design direction and engineering methods.
You create, review, and distribute technical drawings and cut files for any given project. You contribute to keeping the department's assigned tasks on pace and prioritizations according to the production schedule. You will also assist the Digital Fabrication Office in department improvements, new techniques, and standard engineering practices. You are responsible for troubleshooting any unforeseen situations.
- This position operates out of our facility in Brooklyn NY - remote work is not available.
- Solidworks proficiency mandatory.
- Proficient in creating technical drawings, renderings, and cut files in CAD/3D modeling software. (Solidworks proficiency mandatory, AutoCAD recommend/optional).
- Interprets the Project conception based on sketches, renderings and/or other provided information.
- Creates technical drawings, renderings, and 3D models according to the project budget, fabrication capabilities, finishing capabilities, and installation requirements.
- Exhibits keen knowledge of home building hardware, furniture hardware, cabinetry hardware, retail fixture hardware, signage, and tradeshow hardware.
- Exhibits keen knowledge of standard & special wood, metal, plastic-based engineered sheet goods as well as their applications, properties, dimensions and availability.
- Displays competence and awareness of Bednark’s fabrication, finishing, CNC machining, and tooling capabilities.
- Maintains detail and solution-oriented throughout the entire drafting process.
- Strives to learn and develop a strong familiarity with basic kinetic and automation engineering, structural engineering methods, and ballast calculations.

- Must be detail orientated and organized.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to read, understand and produce drawings and details.
