The Dental Treatment Coordinator Role

The Dental Treatment Coordinator (TC) plays a crucial role in ensuring an exceptional patient experience by serving as the patient's primary point of contact and advocate throughout their dental care journey. The TC is responsible for keeping patients and their families informed and engaged in all aspects of their dental treatment, from initial consultation to post-treatment follow-up.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the patient's concierge, providing personalized assistance and guidance throughout their dental care experience.
  • Communicate with patients and their families to explain treatment plans, procedures, and associated costs in a clear and empathetic manner.
  • Coordinate appointments, consultations, and follow-up visits to ensure optimal scheduling and minimal wait times for patients.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to address patient concerns, answer questions, and provide timely updates on treatment progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, consent forms, and financial agreements.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, insurance providers, and financial institutions to facilitate payment arrangements and maximize insurance benefits.
  • Ensure that all patient interactions comply with privacy regulations and ethical standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance patient care and improve treatment coordination processes.
  • Proactively seek feedback from patients to identify areas for improvement and enhance the overall patient experience.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a dental office, with knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including experience with dental practice management software.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in patient care.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Working Conditions: The Dental Treatment Coordinator typically works in a dental office setting, interacting with patients, dental professionals, and administrative staff. The role may require standing or sitting for extended periods and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
