Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is Hiring a SVP Global Marketing Near Chaska, MN

We are seeking a high performing Senior Vice President, Global Marketing, Market Access & Commercial Partnerships, Beckman Coulter Diagnostics. The person in this role will be a thought leader with the vision, leadership and experience to orchestrate a compelling strategic marketing plan, lead analysis and diligence of opportunities, and successfully launch new products and develop markets through excellence in customer insight, market development for cutting edge new products, and health economics and reimbursement. The SVP Global Marketing, Market Access & Commercial Partnerships will partner with other senior leaders to develop, articulate, and execute marketing strategies that drive meaningful improvements in market share gains, maximize profitability and drive shareholder value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Thought Leadership & Industry Positioning: Drive thought leadership by collaborating with stakeholders, academic partners, and reference sites to build momentum for product launches. Establish the organization as an industry leader through strategic partnerships, thought leadership, and collaboration initiatives.

  • Market Development: Prepare the market for new diagnostic solutions and influence patient care pathways through effective marketing of clinical and economic utility data across all relevant members of the disease ecosystem to support the launch of new diagnostic innovations. In so doing, establish Beckman Coulter as a leader in prioritized disease states.

  • Customer Journey & Digital Marketing: Enhance customer experience across the customer journey to foster loyalty and increase market share. Cultivate and complement this cohesive customer journey with a robust digital marketing strategy.

  • Brand Equity & Sustainable Impact: Craft a sustainable program to increase brand equity strategically, building a lasting impact on the organization's image, opening new opportunities, and ensuring long-term competitive wins.

  • Open Innovation Management: Strategically manage commercial open innovation partners/programs aligned with strategy goals to ensure successful outcomes that contribute to the overall success of the strategic plan and P&L.

  • Market Assessment & Business Growth: Assesses commercial priorities and market attractiveness through thorough diagnostics evaluation. This includes supporting new business/revenue growth opportunities via research, market trend analysis, competitive positioning, clinical pathway understanding, and business case development.

  • Strategic Planning & Collaboration: Contribute to the organization's strategic plan, collaborating with leadership peers and developing complementary market growth strategies to business unit product and commercial strategy.

  • Portfolio Optimization & Reimbursement Strategies: Work with business units and commercial to optimize portfolio execution/funding. Develop and implement reimbursement strategies to maximize value to BecDx and then collaborate with various departments, i.e., product development, sales, quality, legal, regulatory affairs, and medical, on how to execute. Develops and implements reimbursement strategies and programs and provides reimbursement-related advice to product development, marketing, sales, quality and regulatory affairs, and business leaders.

  • Launch excellence: Ensure launch excellence in advanced diagnostics products. This requires in-depth knowledge of the industry, regulatory landscape, and customer needs. Success hinges on strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and staying abreast of industry trends. A proactive approach to navigating complexities and ensuring continuous improvement is crucial for sustained market success.

  • Global Commercial Training – Transform sales and medical teams into industry-leading solution and clinical specialists. This includes designing and implementing strategic training programs and integrating best-in-class tools to shift the focus from products to solutions built on deep voice-of-customer (VOC). Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure global consistency and establishing measurable metrics to refine and enhance training effectiveness.

The successful candidate will:

  • Become the expert on key focus areas through primary, proprietary market work, customer intimacy, and competitive know-how.

  • Distill various data inputs to succinct, proprietary insights to enable decision-making

  • Rapidly identify and communicate the market/business levers that define winning and losing

  • Convince senior decision makers of market attractiveness and tradeoff decisions

  • Help ensure alignment of resources to strategic marketing priorities across the operating company

  • Have an innate desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative, roll-up-your-sleeves, high-growth environment

  • Direct commercial strategies that enable market growth and share capture

  • Recruit and develop, and motivate best-in-class talent

The essential background and qualifications include:

  • A bachelor’s degree with an M.B.A. or similar graduate degree is ideal.

  • 3 years in a top-tier consulting firm or equivalent experience in business strategy or business development, focused on growth, strategic marketing, strategy or commercial

  • 3 years of B2B marketing experience with a proven track record of driving revenue growth through disruptive marketing strategies is a plus.

  • 5 years domain experience in the diagnostics industry or adjacent industry experience (e.g., medical device, life sciences, science and technology)

  • 20 years of professional experience in commercial, marketing or consulting roles. 10 years of executive leadership experience, managing diverse teams.

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully influencing a company’s most important strategic decisions to value-building outcomes and launching products with excellence

  • Experience contributing to the overall leadership of a company or operating division through membership on an executive cross-functional leadership team

  • Experience in one or more of sales, R&D, product management, business development/strategy, or operations in addition to marketing.

The salary range for this role is $ 290000 to $340000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
