Description

Beckhoff Automation has an exciting opportunity to join our Product Support team. In this role you learn about Beckhoff’s wide variety of cutting-edge products and technologies. You will work with customers directly to assist them with their Beckhoff vision, motion, safety, and input/output devices. You will also work with our TwinCAT controls architecture along with a multitude of different fieldbus and EtherCAT control systems. Working at Beckhoff is a great opportunity to build and hone your mechatronic skills working with a wide variety of clients utilizing our extensive line of products and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and solve customers’ control systems issues using standard trouble-shooting tools and techniques.
  • Perform troubleshooting and research toward the resolution of technology related problems for end users.
  • Provide first-line support for Beckhoff Automation Products.
  • Provide end user training working one-on-one, creating knowledgebase articles, updating wiki, or small group training.
  • Prioritize incoming requests. Escalate problems (when required or appropriate) to other technicians, next level support or other departments or functions.
  • Record, track, and document support requests, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made as well as actions taken through to final resolution.
  • Learn on the job when faced with new challenges / questions.
  • Participate in on-call support on rotation to triage and troubleshoot after hours service requests.
  • Build and Maintain an advanced level of knowledge of Beckhoff Automation products and related technologies.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Engineering or related technical field from a four-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An understanding of automation hardware and software.
  • Experience with coding and ladder logic. Languages such as C sharp, JAVA, Python, or IEC-61131.
  • Practical electrical experience at the control panel level.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings.
  • Self-starter with a results driven personality.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work in a high stress environment while maintaining professionalism.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
