Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies as needed.
- Maintain aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures to minimize the risk of infection.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide support as required.
- Monitor patients' vital signs during surgery and communicate any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
- Collect and document data related to surgical procedures, including patient information, surgical instruments used, and any complications or issues that arise.
- Assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery, including positioning patients, preparing incision sites, and applying dressings.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist with surgical procedures.
- Experience working in an acute care or ambulatory surgery center setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems such as Epic for data collection.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols for maintaining aseptic technique.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the surgical team and provide patient care.
