Job Summary:

The Public Safety Officer will provide property owners, guests, day visitors, contractors and employees with an exceptional guest service experience and greet all guests in a friendly, inviting and welcoming manner on a daily basis both in the village plaza and at individual residences. Respond to alarms and emergencies. Know and enforce all Beaver Creek rules, regulations and covenants for owners and guests staying in or visiting Beaver Creek. Problem solving and sound decision making based on knowledge of the guidelines and procedures of Beaver Creek. Documentation of all that is done on your shift in a clear and concise manner. Working scheduled shifts (48 hours) and covering shifts at all hours, including overnight and holidays.

Expected Pay Range $20.00 - $21.35

Job Responsibilities:

The primary duties for the Security Public Safety Officer include but are not limited to:

  • Interacting with property-owners, guests, and employees
  • Assisting guests, residents, and employees of Beaver Creek with vehicle pull-outs, jump-starts, vehicle-unlocks, intrusion alarms and motor vehicle accidents
  • Consistently providing a very high level of customer service
  • General resort safety
  • EMS response
  • Enacting general emergency procedures
  • Making critical or difficult decisions in urgent situations and/or with limited information
  • Coordinating response and responding to medical emergencies with the local EMS provider
  • Using and Directing use of resort and county radio systems
  • Familiarity of emergency and law enforcement services
  • Notifying appropriate public service partners
  • Adapting to wide variety of dynamic situations
  • Managing and resolving tier-two (transferred from other departments) customer service issues
  • Enforcing all Beaver Creek road, animal and property regulations
  • Ensuring the proper and lawful use of all Vail Resorts properties
  • Responsibility for bank deposits
  • Traffic control and pedestrian safety on roadways within the resort and coming into the resort
  • Detecting, mitigating and/or reporting any safety problems or misuse of company property
  • Investigating incidents
  • Writing and filing reports
  • Developing and conducting shift training
  • Regularly and consistently attending meetings and trainings during the work day
  • Occasionally attending meetings and trainings outside of the regular work week
  • Additional duties may include but are not limited to: inspecting AEDs, managing and/or making keys, restocking first aid kits, updating locks and keys and more
  • Other duties as assigned

The expected pay range is $20.00 - $21.35. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
