Description

Position Summary

The Supply Chain and Procurement Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing warehouse operations, procurement processes, and production scheduling within the supply chain. Reporting to the Plant Operations Director, this position plays a pivotal part in reducing costs, improving productivity, and ensuring a seamless flow of goods and materials from warehouse to production programs.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Lead and manage cross-functional team, including warehouse personnel, purchasing team, and scheduling team. This also includes shipments of finished goods, logistics of finished goods, and inbound freight.
  • Provide guidance and support to warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Oversee procurement processes, working closely with the Purchasing team to optimize vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of warehouse, purchasing, and scheduling team members.
  • Ensure each department maintains a safe, clean work environment by following cGMP and SOP guidelines.
  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, warehousing, and organizing inventory to support efficient warehouse processes.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate staging of inventory to work orders.
  • Identify slow-moving and obsolete inventory and consolidate those inventories to a section of the warehouse. In addition, managing destruction requests.
  • Coordinate with all teams to ensure timely work order pulls and delivery, optimizing production schedules.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the warehouse, purchasing, and scheduling operations.
  • Develop and implement supply chain and procurement strategies and goals aligned with the organization's overall objectives.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the supply chain, purchasing, and scheduling functions.
  • Analyze data and generate reports to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and best practices.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control processes as well as facilitate and direct investigations related to NOEs, critical overages, or shortages assigned to Supply Chain.
  • Own and lead special projects as assigned.

Qualifications


Technical Skills Required

  • Subject Matter Expert in Supply Chain, including MRP, MPS, and Demand Planning.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems.
  • Understanding of Supply Contracts.
  • Understanding of Financial Metrics such as EBITDA, ROI, ROA, and Inventory Turn.
  • Strong analytical skills including thorough risk assessments.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and successfully execute strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to combine expertise in material flow management.

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field with 7 years of experience in supply chain-related roles or CPG contract manufacturing, showing an increasing level of responsibility.
  • Proven experience in warehouse management, procurement, and scheduling within supply chain operations.
  • Proven ability to build and manage high performing teams.
  • Experience with project management, purchasing, and master scheduling

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the workday.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, stand for periods of time, and have the ability to bend, squat, kneel, turn, and stoop.
  • Requires some walking, as well as sitting for periods of time.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and manipulate various packaging types safely
  • Ability to work and function safely in a Warehouse or Manufacturing environment.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration if working in the production areas of the building.
