Job Description: Boutique Manager at Beaufort Belle
Beaufort Belle, a charming southern lifestyle boutique located in Bluffton, SC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Boutique Manager to lead our retail team and deliver exceptional customer experiences. As a Boutique Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the boutique, driving sales, managing employees, and creating an inviting shopping environment for our valued customers.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead by Example:
- Set a high standard of professionalism and customer service for the entire team.
- Demonstrate a passion for the boutique's products and the southern lifestyle it represents.
2. Positive Attitude & Work Ethic:
- Foster a positive work culture that promotes teamwork, creativity, and motivation.
- Encourage employees to uphold the boutique's values and dedication to customer satisfaction.
3. Confident & Polished Appearance:
- Always maintain a professional and polished appearance.
- Ensure all employees adhere to dress code standards that reflect the boutique's image.
4. Monitor Sales:
- Analyze sales trends and develop strategies to optimize revenue and meet targets.
- Implement and monitor sales incentives to encourage employee performance and customer engagement.
5. Conduct Employee Training:
- Plan and conduct training sessions to onboard new employees and enhance the skills of existing team members.
- Educate staff on product and brand knowledge, customer service best practices, and sales techniques.
6. Manage Employee Scheduling (includes monitoring labor costs):
- Create efficient and fair schedules that meet the boutique's operational needs.
- Monitor labor costs and adjust scheduling as necessary to maintain profitability.
7. Merchandising:
- Curate and maintain visually appealing displays to showcase the boutique's products.
- Regularly refresh displays and merchandise layouts to attract customer attention.
8. Strong Communication:
- Communicate effectively with staff, customers, and management to ensure a smooth flow of information.
- Provide regular updates on boutique performance, sales goals, and any relevant updates.
9. Manage Time Sheets:
- Oversee accurate and timely recording of employee work hours and submit to payroll as required.
10. Retain and Attract Top Talent:
- Identify and nurture talent within the team to promote growth and internal promotions.
- Develop strategies to attract skilled and passionate individuals to join the boutique's team.
11. Mediate Workplace Conflict:
- Address and resolve employee conflicts in a fair and professional manner.
- Encourage open communication and provide a supportive environment for conflict resolution.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a retail management role, preferably in a boutique setting.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong understanding of sales techniques and customer service principles.
- Proficient in visual merchandising and creating attractive displays.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail software.
- Knowledge of labor laws and regulations related to scheduling and employee management.
