JOB SUMMARY

As a janitor, your job will be to ensure the cleanliness and safety of company facilities. You will work both independently and as a team to perform routine cleaning tasks to maintain hygienic and sanitary operations. Your responsibilities will include cleaning the interiors and exteriors of facilities through routine duties and additional cleaning tasks as necessary. Please note that you must be available to work shifts from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Adhere to sanitation, safety, security, hygiene, and policy procedures
2. Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
3. Remove waste and empty trash
4. Clean windows, mirrors, walls, ledges, benches, handrails, etc.
5. Clean and supply restrooms
6. Safely handle and use chemicals and cleaning materials
7. Thoroughly clean after special events and maintenance projects (i.e., concerts, banquets and meetings, remodels and renovations)
8. Able to work outside clearing sidewalks and walkways of snow and spreading traction-assisting agents and snow-melting chemicals
9. Promptly report the need for repairs of building operating systems, electrical hazards, and equipment quality issues to a manager
10. Work as a team with your fellow co-workers and treat each other with kindness and respect

Requirements

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older. Previous janitorial experience is preferred but not required

Skills, Abilities & Work Conditions 

1. Stand and walk for the duration of the shift with minimal breaks
2. Lift and carry 30 lbs
3. Work in fluctuating temperature environments
4. Have good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
5. Push and pull heavy objects
6. Bend, climb, reach, stoop, move quickly, and stop and wipe frequently
7. Self-motivation and the ability to manage time and accomplish tasks with accuracy and efficiency
8. Punctuality and the ability to take direction and work well with multiple personality types
