Applications are now being accepted for a Science Specialist/ Field Experience Coordinator position at Bear River Charter School. Bear River Charter is a K-6 school of 180 students located in Logan, Utah. Preference will be given to applicants with experience implementing positive behavior supports, experience organizing cross-grade curriculum, and experience managing large outings and the logistics required to plan the outings. This position is for the 2024-2025 school year.
The Science Specialist will:
1. Work with each elementary classroom to provide meaningful and engaging science lessons and activities 1-2 times per week.
2. Coordinate vertical alignment of science curriculum between different grade levels.
3. Work with teachers to enhance science curriculum in the classroom.
The Field Experience Coordinator will:
1. Work with the Executive Director to create a master schedule of Field Experiences for the Year.
2. Organize Field Experiences by tracking permission slips, working with outside companies to arrange activities, and coordinate transportation.
3. Provide cross-curricular lessons while students are on Field Experiences.
4. Work with teachers to collaborate on cross-curricular skills and lessons.

All teachers employed at Bear River Charter School will: a) hold a bachelor's or higher degree, b) be licensed in the area of teaching assignment, c) be highly qualified to teach the grade level and subject matter to which they are assigned, d) demonstrate a willingness and ability to support the mission and goals of the school, e) demonstrate effectiveness in teaching the curriculum and using the instructional methods described in the mission and the comprehensive program of instruction, f) demonstrate a desire and ability to communicate clearly with parents and support parent participation, g) treat students, parents and other teachers with respect and warmth.
