Full-Time Cake Decorator

Bean Counter Bakery Cafe is an award-winning bakery specializing in creating custom-designed high-quality wedding/custom cakes, cupcakes, tarts, pastries, mini desserts, cookies, desserts, pies, cheesecakes, tortes and more for all occasions.

We are currently seeking a full-time experienced cake decorator/cake artist to join our Finishing/Decorating team in our new state-of-the-art 5,000 sq. ft. flagship bakery in Worcester, MA.

Our ideal candidate should have at least 1 to 3 years' experience as a professional cake decorator, proficient in buttercream skills, knowledge of fondant technique and royal icing application, and construction of custom and wedding cakes. A bench test will be a part of the interview. If you love creating delicious, beautiful cakes, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Consistency in all aspects of standard and custom cake decorating, from simple style decorated cakes to custom themed cakes, and stacked wedding and all occasion cakes.
• Possess decorating skills in various cake, cookies and cupcake styles with an artistic touch. Ability to create the types of cakes as shown on our online store on the website using buttercream, ganache, and whipped cream.
• Ability to apply smooth buttercream and pipe details, including neat writing, is a must.
• Ability to follow recipes and produce fillings/frostings and more, consistently to taste/texture, in large-batch quantities, using all natural, scratch ingredients.
• Willingness to learn and apply new techniques is required
• Experience and proven skills in the following areas required or preferred:

1. Ability to write precisely on cakes

2. create buttercream roses/flowers

3. Create flat image characters & scenes

4. Create free-hand designs

5. Create fondant toppers & applique designs
