Beale Personnel, Inc. is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Bowie, MD

If you seeking the opportunity for upward advancement, this may be the opportunity for you. The Practice Administrator started with this practice as an Ophthalmic Technician. The Lead Ophthalmic Tech rose to her position in two years time. The Manager of Clinical Research is also an Ophthalmic Technician promoted to this position.

Bowie, MD Ophthalmology practice is in need of an experienced Ophthalmic Technician. Previous Ophthalmic training and Ophthalmic Technician experience required. Proficiency in manual refractions and tonometry experience required.

Education, Skills and Experience Required for the Ophthalmic Technician:

  • High school education required. Specialized Ophthalmic Training and Certification a plus (COT, COA)
  • Two or more years experience as an Ophthalmic Tech.
  • Proficiency in manual refractions and tonometry

Duties and Responsibilities of the Ophthalmic Technician:

  • Provides primary ophthalmic care to patients and act as clinical assistant to physician.
  • Performs complete ophthalmic history and preliminary exams, sub-specialty tests (manual refraction, VF test, Pachymetry, color testing, and contact lens evaluation.
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.
  • Accurately records all information in EMR system according to established standards and physician requirements.
  • Checks condition of patients' eyes by observing pupils, muscle, visual acuity, extraocular movements, and blood pressure (if requested by Physician).
  • Prepares patients for ophthalmology examination by dilating pupils.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
