BACKGROUND: Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix, and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 1,700 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist the more than two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. POSITION INTRODUCTION: Beacon focuses on career development and promotion for Direct Support Professionals -people are at the core of everything we do. Beacon Group is currently recruiting an additional Lead Job Coach to support the growing Supported Employment Programs in the Tucson Area. The Lead Job Coach will work in collaboration with the other Lead Job Coach(es) to facilitate the delivery of services and projects at customer locations throughout the community. Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to staff and clients while meeting customer expectations. Business sectors include landscaping, custodial, warehouse, contract manufacturing, and assembly work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and monitor clients at all times. Clients will be kept within job coach's line of sight.
  • Report any concerns regarding a client to your Supervisor and the client's Program Manager.
  • Report to Rehab Project Manager and Program Manager regarding client attendance concerns.
  • Update Client Binders / Teams Folders for your clients, assuring pertinent employee information is available as needed.
  • Track and record client hours on daily log sheet daily and transfer into MITC daily.
  • In conjunction with the Program Manager, maintain good communication with parents, group home staff, DDD Support Coordinators/Vocational Rehabilitation case managers, etc., regarding any situation that might affect any individual.
  • In conjunction with team members, assist with the development of individual service program plans, giving input regarding strengths, needs objectives, long-term goals, job skills and chart client objectives.
  • Maintain an updated substitute manual for the department, assuring pertinent employee information is available.
  • Supervise crew with increased likelihood of behavioral and other interventions needed.
  • Support with training for Job Coaches on all tasks and responsibilities.
  • Fill in for Job Coaches in their absence.
  • Work with clients in a group or 1:1 ratio.
  • Ensure that the Job Coaches are supervising and monitoring the clients at all times.
  • Provide Job Coaches with training that teaches, reinforces and assists the appropriate work attitudes, behaviors and daily living skills.
  • Mentor the Job Coaches to adhere to Beacon Group's philosophy of using patience and sensitivity when dealing with clients, utilizing a positive approach in any situation.
  • Ensures that the Job Coaches comply with all supervision, paperwork, documentation, coaching, safety, and work performance standards.
  • Ensure the Job Coach's maintain a Client Binders / Teams Folder for each client.
  • Ensure Incident reports are completed in a timely manner in accordance with Beacon Group's policy.
  • Ensure Job Coaches complete all required training.
  • In conjunction, with Hiring Manager and Human Resource participate in interview and hiring process.
  • Write Incident Reports, Monthly Progress Reports, and case notes on each client, as needed.
  • Report all incident reports to your Rehab Project Manager and or Lead Job Coach in accordance with Beacon Group policy who will then contact the appropriate Program Manager.
  • Accurately complete MITC daily entries.
  • Complete on a daily basis all paperwork Incident reports, Time Cards, Client Communication logs if applicable

Essential Abilities

  • Ability to balance, bend, stand, walk, kneel, twist, stretch, climb and sit.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to write accurate, clear, and informative case notes.
  • Ability to tolerate environmental conditions, such as hot, cold, wetness, dust, noise, etc.
  • Ability to work, drive and travel independently to various sites.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to use good judgment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to learn and use equipment.
  • Ability to use power tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Ability to seek out other opportunities and responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience working with adults with disabilities.
  • Minimum of one-year supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in the field of work.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing to provide services to Behavioral Health clients referred by Arizona Complete Care Plans.
  • Specialized skills and certificates such as, but not limited to: Arborist, Chemical Spraying, Landscaping Design, and warehousing specifically Inventory and process management.
  • Increased technical skills related to field of work.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Successfully pass the drug test and background check.
  • CPR/First Aid certification, or able to obtain and maintain a CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Fingerprint clearance card, or able to obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card.

  • Have a valid Arizona Driver's License and pass the Beacon driving test.
  • Article IX and Prevention and Support certificate or able to obtain and maintain certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday.
