Brand New Pediatric Office opened in late November 2023. Beacon Pediatrics brings together seven experienced Pediatricians who have been providing primary pediatric care to the families of the South Shore for over 20 years. Full-time position available.

Position Overview: The Patient Access Representative is responsible for the functions associated with the initial patient access to clinic, as well as continued scheduling access in the clinic, verifying demographic and insurance information. As in any medical practice, scheduled hours may include days, evenings, and weekends.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collects demographic and insurance information for new patients to complete registration
• Updates demographic and insurance information for established patients within the EMR system
• Advises patient of possible financial obligation and insurance requirements
• Provides estimates to Self-pay patients regarding cost of services
• Appropriately and accurately schedules patients for various types of appointments
• Accurately updates scheduling system with any cancellations or appointment updates
• Verifies insurance for upcoming appointments in timely manner
• Outreaches to patients with any rescheduling, insurance concerns, etc
• Collects copayments and processes payments through EMR billing system
• Confirms completion of pre-appointment questionnaires and assists patient in completing if not previously done
• Provides general information about the clinic and its services
• Requires ability to multi-task, exceptional flexibility to adjust to fluctuating call volumes, professionalism and the highest standards of customer service to interact with patients and all levels of staff within the Clinic

Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience, preferably in primary care
- Knowledge of EPIC electronic health record system is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with patients and their families
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
