Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for eye care and providing exceptional service to our patients. As an Optician, you will assist customers in selecting and fitting eyewear, as well as educating them on proper eye care.
Duties:
- Assist patients in choosing eyeglass frames that complement their features and prescription
- Take accurate measurements to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses or contact lenses
- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and care techniques
- Maintain inventory of eyewear and order new stock as needed
- Keep accurate patient records
Requirements:
- Experience working with optical equipment and tools
- Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology and procedures
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients and colleagues effectively
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems like Epic
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Certification as an Optician is preferred but not required
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Laboratory experience
- Basic anatomy knowledge
- Aseptic technique proficiency
- Vital signs monitoring ability
- Pediatrics experience
