Description

Busy Ophthalmology office is seeking experienced, energetic employee to join the communications team. Applicants need to be a team player with a positive attitude and must be able to work some evenings and Saturdays. Full time position with great benefits. Some duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Exert high levels of customer service when greeting incoming scheduling phone calls

• Exert high levels of customer service when greeting incoming general information phone calls

• Triage and transfer telephone, text, and email communications from patients throughout the practice

• Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting and entering detailed patient information including personal and insurance information

• Maintains a positive can do attitude, supporting leadership direction and initiatives.

• Ensures legal compliance by following company policies and procedures

Requirements

Required:

• 2-4 years of customer service experience

• Strong IT and computer application skills 

• High accuracy in data entry and follow up skills

• Strong communication skills

Preferred:

• 2-3 years of medical office experience

• Experience in Optometry/Ophthalmology specialties

• Working knowledge of practice management or electronic medical record systems

• 1-2 years knowledge of medical terminology
