Purchasing Agent - Interior Design Dept.

BE Design is an Architectural and Interior Design firm in designing luxury homes as well as luxury yacht interiors. We emphasize the quality of design, the design in relation to the environment and surroundings to inspire an overall experience.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

BE Design is seeking a Purchasing Agent for our Interior Design Department to facilitate the procurement of furnishing, fixtures and equipment for multiple projects to support our Interior Design Team. The Purchasing Agent’s responsibilities include but not limited to:

Duties:

• Work closely with interior designers, architects, and contractors.
• Procurement of furnishing, fixtures, fabric, wallcoverings and equipment and research on sourcing products for multiple projects.
• Purchase general and specialized materials as directed by designers and subcontractor services for construction projects.
• Invite estimates, consult with suppliers, and review quotations with design team.
• Negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards as directed.
• Prepare purchase orders in Design Manager software
• Matching invoices with purchase orders and delivery tickets.
• Follow up on orders, shipping, delivery dates, etc.
• Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure.

• Must be able to relate and coordinate with the finance department project funding needs on a weekly basis.

Education & Skills:

• Must have Purchasing Agent background
• Must have at least 2 years experience in general office duties
• Must have DESIGN MANAGER SOFTWARE experience.
• Must have computer literacy, including strong experience in MSWord and MS Excel (spreadsheets, pivot tables, etc.)

• Ability to work under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills a must, the ability to work independently with strong multi-tasking abilities.
• Interior Design knowledge is a plus.
