BDO is Hiring a National Advisory Market Leader Near Atlanta, GA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional who embodies the entrepreneurial spirit to focus on championing BDO’s Advisory services, along with driving cross sell and a full value proposition to clients across the US, developing relationships internally and externally and, most importantly, setting the stage for new business opportunities. The National Advisory Market Leader will be responsible for cultivating relationships with i) regional and local BDO office leadership, ii) Business Development professionals, iii) National Practice leaders, and iv) regional executives, boards of directors, and C-Suite audiences to enhance BDO’s market presence and identify and help pursue new business opportunities in alignment with national, regional, and local office go-to-market strategies.

The National Advisory Market Leader will be responsible for being the lead relationship driver for four to six key accounts.

In addition, this position will be responsible for creating a market leadership function across Advisory that can integrate into the Market Leadership structures of BDO’s Tax and Assurance business lines, nationally. This function will drive standards, processes, and tools to support:

  • Go to market campaigns, wholistic across the three business lines, in the spirit of OneBDO
  • Cultivate a culture of cross-sell
  • Innovate our value proposition through the development and / or championing of “Solution Selling” (bundling of multiple services to achieve a clients desired outcome)
  • Assisting in the recruitment and training of future market leading professionals
  • Leading and creating the Advisory Market Leadership function

Job Duties:

  • Executes national business development plans in conjunction with Market and Practice Leaders across BDO
  • Utilizes strategic roadmaps and internal relationship building to ensure alignment of business development activity to targeted growth initiatives
  • Oversees, contributes and manages Advisory involvement and ensures participation in National Relationship & Account Management program across national, regional and market level accounts to drive Advisory opportunities in connection with the programs at each level
  • Oversees, contributes, and manages Advisory involvement in the Premier Account Program
  • Actively participates and delivers in key Industry programs selected for the regions ensuring Advisory professionals are engaged in regional and market level industry efforts
  • Develops and manages cohesive and coordinated Advisory market teams in major markets to ensure go-to-market execution is conducted as a team effort and that Advisory is included in relevant local market initiatives
  • Consults with regional executives, boards of directors, and C-Suite audiences to determine their needs; recommends enterprise-wide services & networking connections
  • Makes region-specific recommendations regarding marketing impact and effectiveness of service offerings to local markets and buying audiences; provides feedback to BDO leadership team to ensure effectiveness
  • Partners with business development specialists and subject matter experts (SMEs) when meeting with prospects and clients; continuously participates in business development efforts
  • Generates opportunities with targeted prospects through agreed upon lead generation activities including strategic partnership with regional business development leaders, telemarketing campaigns, direct mail and e-mail campaigns, social media campaigns, web seminars/seminars, business community outreach, networking, referral development, and other lead generation programs as defined in the practice business development plan
  • Monitors and reports on the results of all market and lead generation programs nationally
  • Leverages national marketing and sales programs as available and follows available consistency guidelines, including telemarketing processes, lead generation activities, firm brochures, proposal templates and pipeline reports and processes
  • Qualifies opportunities and builds relationships with key executives and stakeholders in support of the growth of BDO Advisory’s strategic plan
  • Understands how to work with Alliance Firms and coordinates with International firms as appropriate on opportunities as they arise
  • Supports the National Practice Leaders in facilitating a monthly sales pipeline and providing feedback on where gaps exists in both service offerings and location of Advisory team members to assist in annual forecasting
  • Develops and collaborates with office professionals in local markets to help ensure overall sales success
  • Available and willing to travel approximately 50% of the time, required

    Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree, required
    • Master’s degree, preferred

    Experience:

    • Fifteen (15) or more years of revenue generation responsibility, required
    • Fifteen (15) or more years of business development or SME experience in professional services, required
    • Proven experience developing business relationships and connections within the professional services community, C-level executives (CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, Board of directors, etc.) and referral sources (attorneys, bankers, etc.), required
    • Experience developing a pattern of achievement, competitive skills, energy, motivation, enthusiasm and integrity, required
    • Experience in leading executive meetings, cold-calling, follow up on members and driving business, required
    • Business development experience in accounting, financial consulting, business advisory services and/or technology industries, preferred

    • Ability to apply and maintain excellent knowledge of Advisory practice and service line content, effective consulting, and delivery solutions about the business environment and trends
    • Knowledgeable in the development, management and execution of sales and marketing processes including marketing and business development planning, lead generation, pipeline management, account planning, sales strategy and development
    • Ability to thoughtfully and positively manage change for sales and marketing success
    • Able to create and deliver compelling, polished presentations to both line leadership and senior corporate executives targeting various companies to grow our brand
    • Strong business acumen with an ability to understand and communicate BDO's business, marketplace and value proposition
    • Knowledge of contact management software including updating, maintenance and list generation
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Capable of working in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as presentation skills
