BCS Financial Corporation is Hiring a Contract Manager Near Oakbrook Terrace, IL

The Contracts Manager is part of an integrated legal team that provides sound advice and business counsel to all levels of management and other employees on contract creation, contract management and life cycle, general insurance business matters, and new business initiatives. 

This position will report to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel.

Essential Elements

  • Provide sound advice and counsel to management and other employees on contract creation, life cycle, implementation and integration. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the effective creation and implementation of contracts to support the business. Work directly with internal clients, senior level management and external business partners. · 
  • Contract Negotiations- Assist in the negotiation and finalization of contracts between affiliates and with outside parties, including insurance agents and brokers, third-party administrators and reinsurers.
  • Gather relevant data regarding financial and operational performance as well as other competitive information to increase efficiencies.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of products, policies and procedures, contract requirements, and interpret this information to ensure seamless contract preparation.
  •  Contract Management- Manage and optimize a company-wide contract management system (ConvergePoint)
  • Upload, input and monitor markers such as notice dates, expiration dates, action dates, and renewal dates on signed contracts in contract management system.
  • Ensure corporate goals and objectives for approved initiatives and projects are completed within established timeframes and financial parameters.
  • Manage contract templates and standardized language for new contracts.
  • Assist lawyers to ensure contract terms are updated consistent with current state and federal requirements, legal needs or new company policies.

Requirements

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required; majors in English, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, Finance, Insurance but open to all majors 
  • Juris Doctor desired, but not required 
  • Advanced degree or industry-related professional designation desired, but not required

Experience

  • 3-5 years of contract experience in a corporation, law firm, insurance or reinsurance organization required 
  • Experience structuring and negotiating business transactions is required 
  • Drafting and interpretation of corporate contracts such as confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and producer and administration agreements is required 
  • Proficient with MS Office, including formatting paragraph styles and tables, tracking changes, adjusting page layout and using templates in MS Word 
  • Experience with Power BI is a plus
  • Adaptable to other proprietary systems/applications as demonstrated by previous experience with other platforms; experience with a contract management system is preferred; experience with ConvergePoint Contract Management is a plus 
  • Recent experience in a strong customer-centric environment is preferred 
  • Background in a variety of life, health, casualty and liability insurance products is preferred 
  • Detail oriented
