BCI Integrated Solutions is Hiring a Fire Alarm Technician Near Sioux Falls, SD

BCI owns and operates its own U.L. listed central monitoring station and has two divisions within the company: the systems division and the electrical division. Responsibilities:

  • Installs electrical system components as assigned (e.g. panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, detectors, etc.) for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded system capabilities.
  • Analyzes blueprints, schematics, and drawings of fire alarm and/or other related electrical systems for the purpose of determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems.
  • Coordinates with assigned Project Manager and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
  • Diagnoses causes of electrical problems or failures in assigned systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair.
  • Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health and building regulations.
  • Inspects electrical / fire alarm / security systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs, and recommending preventive maintenance.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • 2-year degree resulting in an Associate’s or technical degree in electronics or related field
  • 1-2 years working in electronics, basic electric circuit troubleshooting (working knowledge of Ohms law)
  • Use of an Electronic (FLUKE) multi-meter to find open circuits, short circuits and ground faulted circuits in networking or other field wiring.
  • Electronics and troubleshooting skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and carry a backpack of 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Individual must be able to pass a background check.
  • Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing.
  • Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the Unites States
  • Qualified Applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Technical degree in Fire Science preferred.
  • NICET Certification
  • FASA BASA
  • 2-5 years of experience as a technician supporting Fire solutions projects
  • Past field experience working in a solutions or construction base business desired.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
