BBYO is Hiring a Head Camp Nurse 2024 Near Lake Como, PA
Head Camp Nurse 2024 Qualifications : RN or Physician Assistant. Experience working with children/adolescents is a plus. Must have an active license.
BBYO has two residential summer camp locations. The head nurse will be onsite at one location but will supervise the nurses at both sites. Both camps are located within 10 miles of each other. The Head Nurse will train and visit the nurses at other location at predetermined times throughout the summer.
Dates:
Pre-camp: Virtual May 1 st 2024-June 1 st 2024: 2 hours weekly
Onsite: Lake Como, PA Sunday, June 7, August 8, 2024
Salary: $14,000
Key Position Responsibilities Include (and are not limited to):
Lake Como, PA
Pre-Camp Responsibilities:
Familiarize yourself with participant medical files noting all needs, allergies, and medications that will be administered during the program.
Set up infirmary onsite at both camp locations
Review medication ordered in advance through CampMeds system.
Participate in trainings prior to camp start date
Communicate with families prior to camp start date if specific needs must be discussed
Onsite Responsibilities:
Oversee other nurses onsite and at other BBYO camp. Provide guidance on complex challenges and support other camp community onsite when nurse gets their day off.
Supervise and schedule Wellness Administrator position
Create medical administration record of home medications on Campdoc
Chart home medications on the MAR in a timely matter
Record assessments and over the counter medications that were administered in health log on Campdoc
Keep a daily log of medications that are dispersed to participants
Tend to daily medical needs of participants
Triage teens and staff that present with medical issues
Coordinate urgent care/telehealth visits with the camp director/wellness admin
Follow written orders and BBYO policies
Administer tests on teens/staff that present with symptoms of (Covid, strep and flu)
Follow policy for quarantining individuals
Lice checks and treatment, when needed
Communicate with parents/guardians of teens physical health has declined requiring a physician
Report list of teens who arrive with medication to Site Director.
Oversee all emergency medical situations.
Communicate consistently with the director regarding any significant medical issues with participants.
Communicate with parents on elevated medical issues.
