BBSI- Modesto is Hiring a Repair Service Technician Near Merced, CA

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of customer and company own machinery.

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install customer and company own machinery.
  • Educating the client on how to use and maintain their machinery.
  • Perform maintenance and provide customer support.
  • Diagnose problems and come up with solutions to repair them.
  • Fill out detailed reports and keep records on services that have been performed.
  • Explain issues with equipment and repairs to customers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers.
  • Maintain inventory stock on service trucks.
  • Operate production machinery and welders.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on customer and company own machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair customer and company own machinery.
  • \Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Program PLC's. Programmable Logic Controls
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
  • Communicate with operators from other shifts.
  • Maintain and secure work tools.
  • Clean and maintain work area, including Service Trucks.
  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use or when performing maintenance.
  • Maintain a cooperative positive attitude to accomplish work goals of the job and work group.
  • Maintains good attendance and punctuality.
  • Adhere to all company Policy such as but not limited to meal/break policy, appearance/dress code policy, and request time off policy.
  • Ensure safety of self and other though proper use of PPE and care of equipment/work site. Keep work site neat and clear of potential hazards, handles and operates equipment in careful/safe manner, keeps tools and equipment in working order and store properly.
  • Maintaining a good driving record (for Technician Driving Company vehicles) and adhering to all laws when driving company vehicles.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and diagrams.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
  • Working knowledge of the equipment needed for the job.
  • Ability to work independently without much supervision.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending and lifting heavy equipment.
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to effectively manage time.
  • Perform back up for assembly line.
  • Perform back up for parts department.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders.
  • Ability to read tape measure and calipers.
  • Knowledge and use of basic hand tools
    Adhere to meal/break policy.
  • Maintains good attendance and punctuality.
  • Adhere to appearance/dress code policy.
  • Adhere to request time off policy

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Advanced skills (Journeyman level) required in one or more of the following areas: electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, plumbing systems, and PLC programming. Programmable Logic Controller.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and sustains driving record with no accidents or law infractions.
  • Maintain company fleet plans permissible points to operate company own vehicles.

Physical Requirements of the Position/Work Conditions:

  • Physically able to operate the press brake.
  • 30 to 40 percent of the job requires lifting carrying holding and manipulating
    • objects weighting excess of 50 pounds.
  • Able to bend over.
  • Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.
  • Able to push and pull.
  • Able to stand on feet for duration of shift.
  • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.

Especially: skill and ease in using both hands

  • Must be able to see details at close range.
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
  • Working conditions are normal for a Manufacturing Department environment.
  • Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, masks and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
