Bayview Hunters Point Foundation has been at the heart of social justice for over 50 years, providing support services for predominantly low-income people of color in Bayview and throughout San Francisco.

We are focused on multidisciplinary, community-informed support for our clients, addressing the root causes of unemployment and homelessness, and advocating for the basic human rights of food, health, and economic and housing security.

Today, BVHPF's nearly 200 employees serve over 5,000 disadvantaged clients each year. Our programs include:

MENTAL HEALTH CLINICAL SUPERVISOR:

In this position, the incumbent will work with Behavioral Health (SUDS) patients with co-occurring diagnoses. The incumbent will provide comprehensive assessment, crisis intervention, case management, individual/ group therapy, substance abuse services, diagnostic evaluation, intensive psychotherapy prevention, consultation, education, and clinical supervision. Staff will be assisting clients in meeting their needs and will make referrals as appropriate as part of psychiatry's comprehensive effort to treat high-risk clients in the community and to reduce unnecessary use of institutional care. This position performs a broad range of clinical and case management duties to populations re-entering society from being incarcerated while maintaining primary clinical supervisory responsibilities for an individual caseload and participating in other clinical programmatic and supervisory functions for unlicensed staff.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receives and provides referrals from other agencies and professionals and handles the initial contact with clients. Provides clinical supervision for unlicensed clinical staff.
• Responsible for the supervision and oversight of the internship program.
• Conducts intake interviews and carries out related procedures, including initial diagnosis and disposition and referral if indicated.
• Completes appropriate forms and documents. Requests relevant information from collateral sources.
• Conducts comprehensive diagnostic studies of clients. On a selective basis, arranges for additional evaluations, including medical, neurological, psychological, educational, speech, and language.
• Provides advocacy; linkage with community resources; assists with maintenance and expansion of social network and monitors client's re-entry into society.
• Develops and periodically reviews individual treatment plans.
• Assist with training in independent living skills.
• Performs case management and crisis intervention when needed; maintains complete and accurate progress notes; bills and documents all contacts with clients; performs mandatory reporting, e.g., 5150s, CPS reports; makes home visits; active participant in the program's clinical case conferences; participate in continuing education training.
• Collaborates and consults with collateral sources. Advocates for clients' needs.
• Performs related duties as assigned or required.

Licensed LCSW/LMFT/Ph.D./PsyD. Requires at least five years of clinical experience, as well as two (2) years post-licensing, and expertise working in a mental health setting with clients living with chronic mental health needs. Requires broad theoretical knowledge, specifically with evidence-based practices, and expertise in the practice of a variety of treatment modalities and diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in order to diagnose and solve problems in psychotherapeutic work with children, adolescents, and adults and their families. Requires skill in effecting and maintaining collaborative relationships with multi-disciplinary associate staff members and outside collateral sources. Requires experience working with minority populations. Requires knowledge of the ethnic, economic, and social factors affecting the residents of the neighborhood served by the program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AVATAR electronic records system
• Experience providing group and individual clinical supervision
• Experience with CANS and ANSA assessments

Licenses & Certifications:

Unrestricted Mental Health License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Education in Alcohol and Drug
