Bayview Hunters Point Foundation for Community Imp is Hiring a Marriage and Family Therapist (Mental Health) Near San Francisco, CA

What We Do:

Bayview Hunters Point Foundation has been at the heart of social justice for over 50 years, providing support services for predominantly low-income people of color in the Bayview and throughout San Francisco.

Our mission is to build a community that is empowered, clean, safe and healthy. We are focused on multidisciplinary, community-informed support for our clients, addressing the root causes of unemployment and homelessness, and advocating for the basic human rights of food, health, economic and housing security.

Today, BVHPF's nearly 200 employees serve over 5,000 disadvantaged clients each year. Our programs include:

• Mental health counseling for youth and adults

• School-based mental health services

• Substance abuse counseling and methadone treatment

• Family transitional and supportive housing

• Rapid rehousing and flex pool housing programs

• Case management services at several homeless and housing programs

• Bayview SAFE Navigation Center

Position Overview:

The Mental Health Clinician/Therapist provides clinical counseling and support for adults with complex needs in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco. This position performs a broad range of telehealth and clinic-based services, including diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, psychoeducation and psychotherapy, and collateral consultation/collaboration. The Mental Health Clinician/Therapist is an exempt, full-time position, reporting directly to the Mental Health Clinical Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Receives referrals from the clinical supervisor and handles initial contact with clients.

• Arranges for additional evaluations, including medical, neurological, psychological, educational, speech and language.

• Performs case management and crisis intervention when needed; maintains complete and accurate progress notes into agency and city systems; bills and documents all contacts with clients; makes home visits when appropriate.

• Actively participates in program's clinical case conferences; participates in continuing education training.

• Collaborates and consults with collateral sources; advocates for clients' needs with other service providers.

• Maintains a minimum productivity level of at least 60% per Medi-Cal billing standards.

• Maintains a clinic-based or hybrid clinic/remote schedule, working at least 2-3 days per week in the Bayview clinic or other community sites

• Performs any other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in counseling, social work or a related field.

• Licensed LMFT, LCSW or LPCC; or California-registered, license-eligible AMFT, ASW or APCC.

• At least two years clinical experience working in mental health or social work setting.

• Experience working with AVATAR and Medi-Cal systems preferred.

Other Requirements:

• Valid California driver's license

• Able to meet federal, state and local standards following a comprehensive background screening

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in the community. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with time constraints. The employee may be asked to work irregular or extended work hours while performing the duties of this job occasionally.

Compensation/Benefits:

• Annual salary of $90,000 for a full-time Masters-level, license-eligible clinician (AMFT, ASW or APCC).

• Annual salary of $105,000 for a full-time licensed therapist or social worker (LMFT, LCSW or LPCC).

• Generous paid time off, including holidays, sick and vacation time.
