Baytex Energy USA, Inc. is an independent oil and gas company engaged in the exploration, development, and production of oil, NGLs and natural gas in various domestic onshore regions of the United States, with a primary focus in the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas.
Position Details
Located in Gonzales, Texas, reporting to the Optimization Foreman. Baytex operates approximately 400 sites with SCADA which has been managed by 3rd party vendor. The new role would entail, building a plan of maintenance and repair, and training of operations staff on SCADA system. Ideal candidate would be able to work independently to maintain, troubleshoot, and problem solve for current RTUs, PLCs, gas and liquid measurement, transducers, transmitters, and SCADA system.
I&E Tech Duties and Responsibilities
Understand safety systems, including emergency lighting, back up battery systems and uninterrupted power supplies.
Some experience in AC Voltage
Understand standalone solar packages (Competent in DC Power)
Run Seal Tight and Direct Burial Cable in Oil and Gas Facilities
Terminating and labeling end devices and all PLC panels.
Troubleshoot all low voltage electrical.
Terminate Low Voltage Wiring Neatly in PLC Cabinets
Set up, calibrate, and install and trouble shoot end devices, Including:
Guided wave radars, ABB Total Flow System, Electronic Level switches, Turbine Meters, and Pressure gauges
Must be able to perform false signal suppression, Parameter change and understand circumstances for parameter changes.
Understanding of PLC cabinet Devices such as MOXA Serial to Ethernet Converters, HART to Ethernet Converters, Dual Tier Terminal Blocks, Fuses
Must be able to read PID’s and Wiring Diagrams
Troubleshoot, fix, and improve electrical controls and PLC panels.
Firm understanding of electrical Relays (12VDC and 24VDC)
Understanding of wiring battery banks in 12V or 24V fashion
Have a firm understanding of Pneumatic Controls
High/Low Pilots, Kimray Pilots, Murphy Switch gauges, Solenoids etc.
Test and assemble Safety system components.
Configuration and troubleshooting of Siemens PLC
Witness and Calibrate TotalFlow gas meters.
Interface with SCADA Providers
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain a valid Texas driver’s license.
5 years in instrument control, automation, electrical maintenance in oil and gas industry
Advanced computer skills
Some experience with AC Voltage (Licensed Electrician not required)
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Able to work with minimal supervision, have good judgment and decision-making skills.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to lift and carry 50# above the waist.
• Must be about to ascend/descend firewall crossovers and tank battery stairways.
• Must be able to climb and work from a ladder.
• Must be able to work in the extreme elements of South Texas.
