Hampton Roads' top animal care facility looking for additional dog trainer.

Duties will consist of implementing established Ruff House curriculum with Day Training dogs, knowledgeably interfacing with clients, and teaching group classes in the evening.

Dog training experience highly desirable, but the right candidate may be considered without it.

The ideal candidate is teachable, hardworking, has outstanding communication skills and the ability to independently manage tasks and timeline. Will work directly with customers to troubleshoot behaviors and explain training plan. Must be able to speak knowledgeably to customers and possess sense of urgency.

Part time trainer position available with ability to augment with dog handler for full time.

Physical Requirements: - Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighting 10 to 100 lbs.- Frequently bends, kneels and crouches.- Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs, sweeping, vacuuming, moping and pushing/lifting.- May drive vehicle if needed.- Continuous walking, standing and moving about.- Exposure to odors, dirt and animal waste.
