** Provide server and related infrastructure support to the Connecticut Department of Public Health State Laboratory, which is implementing new laboratory information management systems and a new high-performance computing device for genomic sequencing work
•Installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware and operating systems
•dministration and management of VMWare infrastructure like vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and virtual machines.
•Managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
•Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high availability.
•Implementing security measures, including backups, and data protection.
•Managing software updates, patches, and system upgrades.
•utomating administrative tasks and creating scripts for system management.
•Craft and implement network configurations and test plans
•Gathering and presenting System Performance Metrics
•Perform platform software upgrades and failover testing
•dministration of routers, switches, and other network equipment
•Perform audits as needed
•Work with IT teams in preparing platform enhancements and configurations
