To learn more, visit us at https://education.tamu.edu/about/ What we want The School of Education and Human Development has an opening for an Assistant Director, Student Services under general direction of the Executive Director of the Byrne Center, assists in all aspects of Byrne Center operations and maintains responsibility for major functional unit(s) within the Byrne Students Success Center and additional departments. Additionally, this position plans, organizes, directs, and manages day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures for the administration of the student services program. Works with stakeholders both on and off campus to support holistic student success which includes students’ mental and physical health, food and housing insecurity support for students enrolled in the College of Education and Human Development. What you need to know Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience. Qualifications Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six years of progressively responsible management experience in student affairs or related field. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills. Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgement. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field Seven years of related experience LPC, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed School Psychologist Essential Duties/Tasks Administration Serves on management team with Executive Director Plans, organizes, directs, and manages day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures for the administration of the student services program. Represents the Byrne Center, department, division, or Texas A&M on various committees. Participates in the developing department strategic plans based on department goals. Research, develop, and write white papers, grant application, and prepare presentations. Maintain and develop communication between partners by attending meetings both on and off campus. Lead the Texas Community Partner Program. Strategic Planning & Development Plans budget for department under supervision and assists Executive Director in planning and budgeting for the Byrne Center. Participates in planning, directing, and coordinating operational or procedural matters to meet department goals and objective. Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates Byrne Center programming. Monitors compliance with all unit, department, University, and government standards, policies, and procedures. Utilize Navigate, Banner, and Compass, to conduct quantitative analysis of student outcomes as requested by Execute Director. Works with stakeholders both on and off campus to support holistic student success which includes students’ mental and physical health, food and housing insecurity support for students enrolled in the College of Education and Human Development. Supervision Work closely with a cohort of students to support their holistic success. Provides leadership for department along with and in absence of the Executive Director. Handles special projects as assigned by Executive Director. Provides supervision and guidance to a team of department sub-units(s). Performs other duties as assigned.
