Electrical Project Engineer I
Electrical Project Engineer - Muscatine IA
Purpose:
Provide daily tactical direction, apply technical skills, & resolve routine issues throughout the project execution process. Ensure the safe, efficient, productive, and cost-efficient project design and implementation of capital projects throughout the Active Ingredients manufacturing facility. This position provides the technical knowledge and is accountable for planning, coordination, and execution of technical activities needed to support capital execution in manufacturing operations.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

• Provide engineering project management to capital projects; project initiation through completion;
• Responsible for moderate project complexity and moderate project load;
• Develop accurate project cost estimates, identify cost-savings, and provide updates to management;
• Lead project reviews and assure thorough action item follow-up;
• Develop clear and concise appropriation requests, communicating and presenting background and justification;
• Select appropriate vendors, soliciting bids with Purchasing;
• Assist Construction Field Coordinators with project implementation requirements; visit job sites to review work activities, safety, and construction;
• Accurately document project files and closure information in a timely manner;
• Ensure systems and equipment are designed and installed in accordance with Bayer and regulatory standards with life cycle cost considered;
• Provide input and engineering assistance to site personnel to facilitate application of plant and corporate standards, safety procedures, and other regulatory requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline including the graduates with degrees by Spring 2024;
• Strong E&I trouble shooting skills;
• Proficient in SAP, Prometheus, and Microsoft Office Suite;
• Experience with electrical drawings (instruments, motors, electrical schematics);
• Experience with layout of construction or shutdown activities as related to project scheduling;
• Awareness for NFPA70E, power distribution, Arc Flash analysis, Power Lines / Transformers. Knowledge of design codes, standards and regulations (i.e., NFPA, NEC, OSHA, ADA, ASME, etc.).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong communication skills, independent decision making, high initiative with a willingness to accept challenging assignments, extensive electrical engineering knowledge, and the ability to work well in a team environment in a culture that values diversity;
• The ability to Influence others and establish future strategy and direction is also critical;
• Knowledgeable of SAP, WCM, and WCPM process;
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work as an individual contributor and as part of diverse team;
• Demonstrated leader in safety, delegation, and influencing skills.
