SUMMARY
What is my purpose?
The Jr. Financial Analyst will report directly to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager and be responsible for assisting with the cost model and financial performance of the company by collecting, mining, monitoring, and studying data. In addition, this individual will support the accounting department in the company’s financial performance against the budget and forecast.

This role is exciting as you will get to collaborate with all departments and see the cost accounting aspects of the organization from beginning to end. You will get to see the machines in operation and analyze data to help the organization become more efficient.
What am I responsible for?
- Assist with providing analytical, forecasting, and reporting to senior management.
- Aid in the evaluation of current and past financial data and performance. Assist with the analysis of past results, help to perform variance analysis, and identify trends.
- Support the cost analysis of the monthly departmental budgets.
- Provide support in the reconciliation of the daily cash balance and Flash Report.
- Assist with maintaining, updating, and analyzing the Cost Model on a monthly to annual basis.
- Coordinate with the FP&A Manager on the actual manufacturing costs and preparing daily reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Support the FP&A, Manager with data regarding machine efficiency, profitability, and break-even pricing levels.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Work closely with the accounting team to support accurate financial reporting and assist with month-end close including posting journal entries and completing account reconciliations.
- Assist with the maintenance of fixed assets and the annual audit process.
- Help monitor variances and follow up on discrepancies.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information, investment decisions, or any other tasks assigned by the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
What do I need to be successful?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Beginner to intermediate level Excel skills (including the ability to perform pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF(S) functions and formulas).
- Excellent data gathering, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize task, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to accuracy and detail required.
What kind of environment will I be working in?
- You will be working at the main headquarters.
- You will spend approximately 90% of time in an office on the computer, 10% of your time in meetings, 0% of your time on the Manufacturing and Distribution floor except for training and data gathering purposes.

- Work environment includes front-office and manufacturing in California. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
