Title: Infection Control Practitioner

Facility: St. Joseph's Hospital South

Location: Riverview Florida

Status: Full Time, Exempt: Yes

Shift Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Weekend Work: None

On Call: Yes

Responsibilities:

• Acts as a leader within the Health System who demonstrates mastery and proficiency in Quality leadership skills
• Utilizes critical thinking skills in the day to day operations of the department
• Has clinical expertise and focuses on the needs of the patient and family as well as team members, visitors and other healthcare providers
• Interacts with other healthcare providers to decrease both the potential and actual risk of infection
• Assists management in defining, implementing and evaluating hospital standards
• Acts as a community resource
• Collect, analyze and organize data in appropriate report formats
• Must have written and verbal communication skills and computer skills appropriate to position
• Show educator skills
• Performs other duties as assigned

Certification & Licensure:

• Required - RN (Registered Nurse) - If applicable
• Or - Medical Technologist - If applicable
• Or - Reference summary for details
• Preferred - CIC (Infection Control)

Education:

• Required - Diploma - Nursing
• Or - Associate's - Nursing
• Or - Bachelor's - Medical Technology
• Or - Bachelor's - Public Health
• Or - Master's - Epidemiology

Experience:

• Required - 5 years - Clinical related with RN license and Nursing Degree
• Or - 5 years - Microbiology experience with Medical Technologist certification and Bachelor's in Medical Technology or Public Health
• Or - 2 years infection control with RN license and Nursing Degree
• Or - 2 years Epidemiology experience with a Masters Degree in Epidemiology
