Summary:

• The Financial Assistance Specialist is responsible for identifying ER patients thru bedside assessment and interview who may be eligible for financial and social assistance from community agencies.
• May act as a liaison between the patient and community agencies.
• Must be available for flexible scheduling and willing to rotate shifts.
• Clearly documents all activities.
• Required Education and Experience includes 3 years Healthcare customer service or Social Services with a High School Diploma or 1 year Healthcare customer service or Social Services with an Associates Degree. Additional Preferred skills includes knowledge of community resources for unfunded/underfunded patients.
