The Emergency Services Screener is responsible for:

• Crisis intervention and assessment for adults, children and adolescents, to make recommendations for treatment that provides the least restrictive environment to meet the individual's needs for voluntary and involuntary psychiatric and substance abuse treatment.
• Coordinating the Intake/psych ED waiting area in conjunction with other intake/ED Team Members to ensure the care, welfare, safety and security of persons served.
• Coordinating with law enforcement, other hospitals, central access and outpatient agencies by providing phone screening and triage for individuals needing placement in a behavioral health receiving facility.
• Responding to telephone and in-person requests for referrals to internal and external sources.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Certifications and Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required Education:

• Bachelor's in the following fields: Counseling, Social Work, Nursing, Special Education, Health Education, Human Services, or Related field.

Experience:

• 1 year mental health or mental health internship with 6 months acute emergency care preferred.
